Hi Johny, it was a pleasure to get to know you, please introduce yourself to your readers….
“I am Johny Kithan, I am 24. I come from a small village called ‘Sungkha’ in Nagaland. I moved to Delhi almost 3 years ago to challenge myself and to find opportunities to chase my dreams. I am the first one from my village to do so :). Delhi is a fast city and it takes a lot to make it here, I work three jobs for a living, during the day I work as a content creator at (@shopwithlove) it’s a clothing store in Hauz Khas village, I also work as a social media marketing at a restaurant in Safdarjung. It is a northeast restaurant called ‘Bhansaghar’ and by night I work as a PR at Summer House Cafe at Aurobindo Market with the Soulcity team. Other than that, my passion is dancing and styling.”
Where does your fashion inspiration come from?
“Chris Brown has always been my number one inspiration since I was a teen, from his dancing skills to his super comfortable yet cool style. I am also hugely inspired by local people from different communities and cultures.”
Define your style
“My style is a blend of two things, the comfort, flexibility, and individuality of street style and the history, meaning, and reference of mine or even other culture.”
What part of pop culture has influenced your style?
“Art. I believe music is an art. I love how musicians can heal people won’t ever meet or know and at the same time inspire them.”

Tell us about your interest in mixing and wearing clothes and accessories irrespective of gender. Do you think the division is ‘men’ and ‘women’ is an old-school concept?
“I have been always different, I don’t like blending in and following what has been done. There is no adventure in that. I also believe and know that these days boys and girls my age don’t look at clothes from the perspective of gender, we look at ‘how can that be a part of what I want to create, say and how can I make something new.”

Characteristics one needs to be able to make it in the city ( Delhi):
1) Power of tolerance lol.
2) A whole lot of patience.
3) Believing in yourself but also in a higher power, for me, it’s God because you can’t always do it on your own.
Your biggest gig yet and why was it special?
“I did a shoot for @vitaminkash and that was the first time I experienced flying so yeah that was special, hahaha. As I said I’m from a very small village so getting on a flight was new to me, it was scary but I loved it. First and definitely not the last :P.”
Your favorite place to hang out in your city?
“I have to say NCC gate Saftarjung since it is personal to me. It also has a lot of cute hangout areas, the energy around the area is always high and people show up in pretty cool outfits.”
How was it shooting with us? What was the best part of the day? Just so you know…. We had a great time with you and it never got boring.
“It was the best time with my crush at the shoot. The photographer took it to another level, he got me out of my comfort zone although he didn’t seem to be talking much, he got the best out of me and I hope to work with you guys soon. Thank you for choosing to shoot with me, I feel special. It’s a pump up to the year”
If you had to say a line of encouragement to the boy who decided to leave his hometown and come to the city where he didn’t know anyone to make a career for himself.. what would you tell him today?
“You did a brave thing by stepping out of your comfort zone and stepping into this whole new world. I am very proud of you and every progress you make counts to something. It will all make sense someday. I am so proud of you young Johny. We will never give up 🙌🏼.“
