Dream On, Dream Big – Hitesh Bisht

I am a go-getter and very stubborn when it comes to following my heart and intuitions. I have followed my instincts religiously and never let anyone question my diligence. This stubbornness has so far worked quite positively.

THE FIRST THING THAT CROSSED OUR MINDS WHEN WE SAW HITESH BISHT WAS ‘HOW MUCH HE RESEMBLED RONALDO’. HIS LOOKS WERE ALL THAT WE WERE FOCUSSING UPON UNTIL THE SHOOT ACTUALLY KICKED OFF. WE REALISED HITESH IS FOC– — USED, YOUNG, AND AWARE OF WHAT HE WANTS, AND THAT GOT US MORE CURIOUS. READ ON TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIM

Name: Hitesh Bisht

Age: 21

Agency: Serb Scouting & Management.

Where are you from: Originally from Uttaranchal, but forever a Delhi boy. Born and brought up in Delhi.

Instagram handle: @hiteshbisht10

First modelling gig Jabong online fashion week in 2015.

Struggles of a being a new model It is hard to find good work as a newcomer.  Agencies and clients don’t take sign you unless you have a good profile to back you up. But how can one make a good profile unless you get some good work? and for that you need to have some experience.

What do you like about your profession You learn multiple things, every single day.

What do you hate about it There are no rules to being a model here, therefore there are so many models, making the competition hard and truly unfair.

Favourite model Sean O’pry.

Something you are tired of hearing That I look like Ronaldo.

Pros of the job You sort of get popular and you can get away with a lot of things.

Cons of the job Very short life span. There is no time to waste, every day, every season counts.

What is your personal style I don’t have one. I slip into whatever the stylist or the designer hand me and hope to carry it off like it was made just for me.

“I DON’T HAVE A PERSONAL STYLE. I SLIP INTO WHATEVER THE STYLIST OR THE DESIGNER HAND ME AND HOPE TO CARRY IT OFF LIKE IT WAS MADE JUST FOR ME.”

DON’T LET MONEY BE YOUR PRIMARY MOTIVATOR. SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS WILL COME FROM PASSION AND HARD WORK. AT LEAST IN THE LONG RUN.

What are your future plans To play football for my country.

Your professional ethics/suggestions Don’t be forgettable. let clients see your distinctive personality. if you are nervous, play your favourite happy song, probably something that motivates you, then take it from there. oh, and never be late! Ever!

What is the best advice given by your scout/agency To be patient, as good things take time. also I am a strong believer in the phrase ‘trust the timings of your life’.

How were you discovered I randomly decided to go for an audition and somehow I got selected. I guess I was always aware.

Dream modelling gig Milan fashion week and New York fashion week.

Only 4 months to go before 2017 is here. What is the highlight of your year (2016): Really great editorials like this shoot and the opportunity to work for a Spanish designer (Rubén Galarreta).

What would you like to accomplish by Dec 31, 2016: Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016, would be the perfect end to the year 2016.

And what would you like to accomplish in 2017 an elaborate shoot with GQ india, couture fashion week and, yeah, travel to Milan, Paris and New York city for work.

Five wise words for fellow aspiring models: Be patient, work hard, eat healthy, take good care of your face/skin (it is not lame, it is a must) and yes, never say no to any assignment.

Cons of being a model Loneliness and fake people.

Things you do everyday in order to become a better model Work out, meditation and eating healthy.

What are some of the annoying/funny questions models often get asked I don’t know. no one really asked me, maybe you can ask me in another two years.

Last shoot memory  I shot for Scentra shoes, it took more than 7 hours and multiple changes to finally get the shoot done. it was repetitive, yet every shot had to be dynamic and different. i guess that was one of my longest and hardest shoots yet. But I know the worst and best shoots are yet to come. I am ready for it.

A brand you would love to work with Burberry.

What is the best feature and how does it work for you I guess it is my skin. it is easy to pair a dusky model along side any Indian female model as well as foreign models. given the current conditions, if I had white skin and long beard, I would be like any other male model. I like my skin, it has gotten me many compliments and a few good jobs. And, it sort of camouflages any temporary bumps and blemishes.

I LIKE MY DUSKY SKIN, IT HAS GOTTEN ME MANY COMPLIMENTS AND A FEW GOOD JOBS TOO. AND, IT SORT OF CAMOUFLAGES ANY TEMPORARY BUMPS AND BLEMISHES.

How do you spend your free time? I either play or watch football.

WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE EXISTING MODELS?

I AM PATIENT ENOUGH TO WAIT FOR MY TIME. HOWEVER, I WANT IT SO MUCH THAT I WILL NOT WASTE A SINGLE DAY NOT TRYING TO BECOME THE BEST THAT I CAN BE. WHEN MY TIME COMES, I SHALL BE READY. I AM AWARE OF THE SHORTCUTS BUT I AM ALSO AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES. I AM YOUNG, YET I AM OFTEN TOLD THAT I THINK BIGGER THAN MY AGE. I GUESS DREAMS KNOW NO AGE LIMIT. I DREAM OF MILAN AND NEW YORK FASHION WEEK.

..one thing that made us notice Johny other than his obvious confidence, supercharged energy and unhinged style was his story. To keep the intro short, let’s just say you will have to read the rest to know his story….
What we do want to tell you Johny is: we relate to you, we are sure most people will do too. We all come to the city to take what’s ours. They say you get what you take, we hope you take what’s yours and then some. And look good while at it….
